TWO teams hit top form for Scarborough Gymnastics Academy at a leading competition in Dewsbury.

The under-11s claimed third spot in their category at the Women’s Artistic Level 6 competition at the Dewsbury Leisure Centre.

Gymnasts in the team were Tilly Grunwell, Jessica Roger, Ellis Miller, Megan Coates, Emily Newbould and Evie Storr.

The under-nines squad, which included two girls who had never taken part in a competition before, were edged into fourth spot in a very close category.

The members of this team were Sophie Gamble, Freya Storr, Emma Roger, Hannah Lockwood, Ellie Smith and Freya Cox.

Kadie Walker, who coaches both teams, was delighted with the youngsters’ efforts. “I was very impressed by the performances of every gymnast in a very tough competition. They all gave their best and showed plenty of promise for the future.”
